Pothos maintenance With Planet Star

It is very easy to care for a Pothos, but we will give you a few tips to keep the plant healthy and
happy. Like all plants, this plant needs light, water and proper air circulation to grow and survive.
Pothos Light:
- Pothos does very well in a variety of light conditions and will even tolerate low light, but medium
indoor light is ideal. - They can grow outdoors in the shade.
- Wherever you decide to display your Pothos, you should avoid direct sunlight.
- Since only the green parts of the leaves can produce energy, the leaves will compensate for the
lack of light by turning a bright green color.
•Pale, yellowish leaves can indicate too little light.

Watering Pothos:
- Keep the soil moist, but be careful not to overwater.
- Pothos does best when the soil dries out between waterings.
- Make sure the roots are moist when watering.
- If the leaves are wilting or turning brown, you need to water the plant more.
- If the leaves are yellow, you may have overwatered, as overwatering can cause root rot.
- Do not let your Pothos sit in water unless it is a cutting for propagation. Pothos can grow in water
as well as soil, but they need a hard time rooting cuttings. Pothos does just as well in soil as in
water.
Pothos Temperature:
Pothos hates cold and should be kept at temperatures above 10°C. This plant loves ambient
temperatures between 15 and 25°C and likes humid air. However, due to its adaptable nature, it can
continue to grow in less humid climates.
Toxicity:
Rarely fatal, eating pothos can cause vomiting and heartburn in pets and children, as it contains
calcium oxalates. Pet owners should be extra careful. You can find more information about plant
toxicity here.

Pests and Problems of Pothos Houseplants:
- The most common causes of problems with pothos are easy to fix. This houseplant does not have
any serious pests or diseases; however, you may find mealybugs. - You can use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to kill pests. So, check your plant weekly.
- Pothos plants can be great for your home or office. The tough and versatile pothos can be grown
horizontally on a mantelpiece, climbing a wall, or climbing a hanging basket. This plant adds
beauty, color, and benefits to any environment

Causes of yellow leaves of the pothos plant:
Cause of yellowing: Over-watering or under-watering
Excessive dryness of the pothos plant, which causes the stem and leaves of the plant to fall and dry
out.
Pale green leaves: Move the flower to a brighter environment.
Pale leaves: The light intensity is high, move the flower to an environment with less light intensity.
White wounds on the plant: The pothos has a pest, use pesticides.
Brown spots on the leaves: The plant has been watered too much; the surface of the pot should dry
between each 2 waterings.
Wrinkled leaves: The weather is too cold, move the plant to a warmer place

The mineral and protein elements of the potting soil have decreased, and to compensate for this deficiency, join us…..
Some of the problems of Ptosis are:
Browning of leaves Browning of leaves with burns due to direct sunlight and excessive ambient
humidity.
Yellowing of leaves. Yellowing of leaves due to excessive watering or lack of proper drainage to
remove excess water from the pot.
White spots: These powdery or fluffy spots are like scale insects that should be cleaned with water
and a few drops of ricin and alcohol on the infected areas with a cloth.
Black spots: If the new leaves are burned and have black and perforated spots, they are due to a
fungal disease that you can use fungicides
Too much space between two leaves the plant becomes thin and the distance between the leaves
is too much due to insufficient light and lack of nutrients. Move the plant to a brighter place and
fertilize.
No new leaf growth: Low light, poor soil, temperature changes
Lethargy and wilting of leaves the main reasons for leaf lethargy are excessive thirst and irregular
watering of the plant. The best time to water is when the soil dries up to two knuckles
The right fertilizer for pothos:
Sometimes you may do everything right, but there is no change in the growth of pothos. You may
wonder why the plant stops growing. The amount of watering is too little or too much. Over-watering
causes root rot and under-watering causes wilting of the straw. The house is below 50 degrees
Fahrenheit or above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Pothos do not like places that are too hot or too cold.
