Choosing the Right Seed
The first and most important step in successful cultivation is selecting the right seed. Seed selection should be based on your experience level and growing conditions. Some ornamental and vegetable seeds are easy to germinate, while others require more advanced techniques. Beginners are encouraged to start with easy-to-grow varieties before progressing to more demanding species.
Soil Preparation
Proper soil selection is essential for successful seed germination. Heavy clay soils may prevent seedlings from emerging and can lead to poor germination rates. The ideal growing medium should be light, fertile, and capable of retaining adequate moisture while providing good drainage.
For best results, we recommend using high-quality commercial potting mixes or packaged growing media specifically designed for seed germination and seedling production.

Seed Preparation
Before sowing, soak the seeds in lukewarm water for approximately 3 to 10 hours. This process softens the seed coat, improves water absorption, and promotes faster and more uniform germination.
Seedling Production
Seeds can be sown directly in pots, seedling trays, disposable cups, or other suitable containers. Fill the container with moist growing media and create planting holes approximately 2–4 cm deep. Place one or two seeds in each hole and lightly cover them with soil or preferably vermicompost.
Germination Conditions
The ideal temperature range for seed germination is between 15°C and 25°C. During germination, the growing medium should remain consistently moist but not waterlogged. Most flower and vegetable seeds are highly sensitive to drying out, especially during the early stages of germination.
If temperatures are low, covering the seed tray with a transparent plastic cover can help maintain humidity and warmth. However, excessive heat above 30–35°C should be avoided, as it may damage the seeds.
Transplanting Seedlings
Once seedlings have developed four true leaves and established a healthy root system, they can be transplanted into their final growing location, whether in pots, gardens, greenhouses, or agricultural fields.
Light Requirements
Seedlings require adequate light for healthy growth. For indoor cultivation, a bright location with at least 8 hours of light per day is recommended. Supplemental fluorescent or LED grow lights may be used when natural light is insufficient.

Planting Season
Most vegetables and herbs can be successfully planted during spring and will grow vigorously under favorable conditions. Many common crops, including basil, parsley, mint, cress, radish, tomato, pepper, eggplant, and squash, can be cultivated throughout the year under suitable environmental conditions and proper management.
